Who is Yoseph?
Who is Yoseph?
When Ioqb/ Yaaqob (Paleo Hebrew) left his fathers house
and headed for that of his uncle in Paddam Aram and the
City of Nahor, he came to a well. It was here that he first laid eyes
on Rchl/ Rachel (Paleo Hebrew) As a
result it was she that he had eyes for. When living with his uncle a deal was struck whereby he had to work 7 years
for Rchl. This seemed to him like a few days because of the love he
had for her. On the day of the wedding, a feast was had and he sealed the wedding with sleeping with his wife. In
the morning he discovered to his dismay that not only had he not slept with his wife but with her sister,
Lae/ Leah, but
that he had been decieved. When he approached his uncle, he informed him that the younger is not wed before the
older. A new deal was struck in which he had to work a further 7 years for Rchl. However he had to wait a week or to complete a week of marraige to
Lae in order for him to marry Rchl which he did. That must have been the longest week in his life, i would
It was during this second set of seven years that he fathered 12 children of which
the last born was Iusp/ Yoseph. It was
this son that was held in high regard. The name Iusp is a play on a
word Isp. Iusp is pronounced as ee-oo-sup and Isp is pronounced as
ee-sup. The pronounciation of paleo hebrew is the same as when a
child learns the alphabeth for the first time or when a child is first introduced into school.
Therefore, Isp means to add or
fruitfull as is the name Iusp which has this hidden meaning in it, to
be fruitfull. It could also mean that another son is to be added which happened 6 yars later when
Rchl gave birth to a son and died.
There are huge volumes of issues that can be discussed here which at this
time we will not venture into them.
